- Carefully unpack your Tokenframe, power cord and accessories.
- For an easy first-time setup, you'll need to use a mobile hotspot to get your Tokenframe connected.
- Change both the name and password of your mobile hotspot on your phone to "tokenframe" (without the quotations)
- Click here for iPhone instructions and click here for Android instructions. Google it for more help if needed.
- After you have set both name and password of your hotspot to "tokenframe", power on your Tokenframe and give it up to a minute to get through the boot-up sequence
- You will know it has connected to your hotspot once you see the QR code appear on the screen
- If you can't use this method, you may use step 1b to connect using an ethernet cable instead. Only one of these methods is needed.
- *If at any point throughout the following steps you see the Tokenframe reboot itself or see a pink screen and dashboard, this is normal, it means the software has updated. It doesn’t always happen, but if it does, simply reboot the frame by unplugging the power. Once it reboots you will have the most current firmware version.
- If you can't use the hotspot method from 1a, then continue on to connect using an ethernet cable instead. Only one of these methods is needed. If you've successfully completed 1a hotspot method, then skip this step and move on to step 2.
- Carefully unpack your Tokenframe, power cord and accessories.
- For a first-time setup, use an ethernet cable to connect the Tokenframe (find port in the back) to your modem/router. Yes the port is backwards, we apologize for this error.
- Next plug in the power cord and wait for the Tokenframe to boot up (≈1 minute).
- You will know it has connected to the internet once you see the QR code appear on the screen
- Leave it connected to modem/router throughout the entire setup process. After step 5 you may finally disconnect the ethernet cable.
- The 10" TBLTP Tokenframe is the only model with a touchscreen. You may use step 1a) as well, but not 1b) as there is no ethernet port on this model.
- Carefully unpack your Tokenframe, power cord and accessories.
- Power on your Tokenframe by plugging in the cord. There is no battery or charging capabilities and it needs to be plugged into a power source to work.
- Wait for the Tokenframe to boot up (≈1 minute). Touch the screen and select the WiFi option in the middle right.
- Select your WiFi Network and enter the password using the on-screen keyboard. Wait up to 1 minute for a successful connection. If it takes you back to the WiFi selection screen, then try it again. Sometimes there are issues connecting to certain WiFi networks, but it should work after some tries.
- You will know it has connected to the internet once you see the QR code appear on the screen. Now you may move on to step 2)
- *If at any point throughout the following steps you see the Tokenframe reboot itself or see a message saying "restarting", this is normal, it means the software is updating. It doesn’t always happen, but if it does, simply allow the Tokenframe to reboot itself. Once it reboots you will have the most current firmware version.
- Visit tokenframe.app ideally from a desktop browser and select ‘Use web app’. It can also be used via a mobile browser, in which case we recommend using the browser within your wallet, such as the Metamask browser. (*In metamask mobile, tap the three lines in the upper left, and select Browser)
- You will select your preferred wallet and sign in. This is a read-only permission, meaning there is a 0% chance of anything being removed, changed or added to your wallet as a result of signing in to our app. It's the same permission you give OpenSea or any NFT marketplace when you connect your wallet to view your account.
- Now that you’ve signed in, click on ‘Frames’ and then on ‘Connect new Tokenframe’.
- Enter the yellow seven digit number that is shown under the QR code on your Tokenframe screen.
- Name your Tokenframe and confirm that it has been added to your Frames list.
- *Once connected, you may see the screen dim or turn off on some models (SQR and 10s usually do this, but others may also do this). Simply click on the Frame you just added and click on the Brightness bar- you should see the screen respond.
- *If you have a 10" Tokenframe, you may skip this step since you're already connected to your local WiFi via the touchscreen.
- Click on the Frame name you just added and select the ‘WiFi’ option on the lower left.
- Give it ≈30 seconds for the app to discover the local WiFi networks and select the one you want to connect to.
- Enter the password and connect. This may take ≈1 to 3 minutes, so please be patient.
- You’ll know it has connected when you get the green notification in the upper right of the web app.
- If it didn’t work, then try two more times, we are still in beta so there may be some bugs. If you still have issues, reach out to us via a support ticket on Discord.
- Once you've successfully connected to your local/home WiFi network, you may unplug the ethernet cable (if you used that method). If you used the Hotspot Method, then you may now turn off your hotspot. If you ever lose WiFi connection you may repeat either Step 1a or 1b or try the following solutions.
- WIRELESS MOUSE - If your Tokenframe doesn't connect to WiFi automatically, then you may use a wireless mouse to connect it manually. Plug the mouse's USB dongle into the back of the Tokenframe (*not for use on 10" Tokenframes) and use the mouse to select your WiFi network and enter your password right on the Tokenframe screen itself. Click confirm and give it ~1 - 3 minutes to connect. If it doesn't work the first time, try it up to two more times. This is also still in beta, so if it doesn't work try the next fix.
- CHANGE NETWORK NAME & PASSWORD - If you have issues with a stable WiFi connection (Tokenframe loses connection from your network often), as a last resort, you can set both the name and password of your home/local WiFi network to "tokenframe". This will ensure that it stays connected no matter what. We understand the security concern of using the same WiFi name and password, so use this fix at your own discretion. We recommend creating a dedicated WiFi network/channel specifically for your Tokenframes if you have many.
- Click on the Gallery tab and select an NFT you want to cast. This opens a pop-up.
- Select the Tokenframe that you just connected via the drop down and then select your Fit or Fill Screen preference.
- The middle option allows you to change the background color if you selected Fit Screen. Use the dropper to sample any color on the NFT .
- Now ‘Cast’. If you casted an NFT of a large media file, such as a video or high resolution image, it may take 30 seconds to a minute for it to appear. Additionally, if it’s a video, you may notice that it is pausing during the first time you cast it. This is normal- it is buffering. After it plays through one cycle, it will continue to play smoothly without any pausing/buffering.
- Feel free to try out more NFTs. If you have any issues at all, be sure to visit our Discord and open a support ticket for one-on-one assistance.
- FAVORITES - "heart" your favorite NFTs to put them into a list. Create different lists as you please. Click on Show Favorites to see NFTs from the list/s you've created. This is our solution for sifting through the "junk NFTs" that are may be in your Hidden folder.
- SLIDESHOW - In the upper right of the Gallery page, you'll be able to create a Slideshow. Select your Tokenframe and Create Slideshow. Name it and select the interval of time you'd like it to wait before cycling to the next NFT. Choose up to 20 NFTs. On the next screen you're able to click on each NFT and modify the display settings, Fit/Feel, etc. Press play to start and pause to stop it.
- Click on ‘Frames’ and familiarize yourself with the Volume and Brightness controls, Power toggle and the Provenance toggle.
- PROVENANCE - This is our signature feature, it shows the NFT metadata plus a QR code that leads you to the Opensea page for that NFT.
- SCHEDULE [beta] - This allows you to set a time for the Tokenframe to power off and power on automatically. Going to sleep and waking up is the most popular use case for this. This feature is still in beta, so if you have issues we are most likely already aware and are working towards a fix.
- Now you may unplug the power and take your Tokenframe over to the area where you intend display it.
- Power on the Tokenframe in its new location and allow it to autoconnect to your WiFi network. It should remember the network and password you set up previously and connect within a minute. If you were playing an NFT or Slideshow before powering it off previously, then it will play that same NFT or Slideshow when it reconnects to WiFi.
- If your Tokenframe is having trouble staying connected to WiFi, see the solutions presented in Step 3.
- Now that you’re connected via WiFi, you're ready for installation.
- This is a basic self-installation guide. For hardwiring the cable through the wall or if you have any doubts, please hire a professional electrician.
- Use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the one screw on the mount that is holding it in place and then slide the mount out.
- You'll want to install your Tokenframe on a wall stud, so use a stud finder to find the right spot.
- Place the mount on the wall to use as a guide with two of the holes along the center of one of the studs. Use a pencil to mark the inside of the four holes of the mount.
- Drill four holes using the marks you left on the wall as guides. Here is a general video guide on how to install a mount on the wall using screws and studs: https://youtu.be/HEvTRTAeKkk?t=389
- Installing the mount is very similar to installing a TV mount, except you may not hit two studs, so installing on just one stud is acceptable.
- The four black screws included are expansion anchors which we recommend for the heaviest sizes, but you may also use regular screws for sizes 21, 32 and 22 SQR if you'd like.
- We also recommend adding two spacers in between the wall and the mount so that it's not 100% flush on the wall and allows for easier movement. See the video below for the final results.
- Once you've secured the mount onto the wall with the U-shaped slot facing up, slide the Tokenframe in. You will definitely want someone's help installing the 43" and 55" models.
- *For the 22" SQR, you'll have to slide it in sideways or upside down and then rotate it so that it's upright. The SQR models don't auto-detect a change in orientation, so there is only one orientation that they can be displayed.
- To rotate, simply lift them up slightly and rotate 90 degrees as the video below shows. The Web App will automatically detect your Tokenframe's orientation and show you the preview for that orientation.
